We are very excited to introduce to you, Luke Ware, personal trainer at Virgin Active Bryanston!
Luke was born and raised in Bryanston, but spent some time at the coast during his school years. He graduated from the Institute of Fitness Professionals with an Exercise Science & Personal Training diploma and been in the fitness industry for about 6 years.
Adding to Luke’s 4 years’ experience as a personal trainer, he also specialises in:
- Weight Loss & Toning
- Muscular Imbalances
- Postural Rehabilitation
- Muscle building
Luke furthermore assists athletes improving in cycling, running and swimming by enhancing their performance through weight training. With his title as Body Beautiful South Africa’s winner, and his 3 years’ experience in competing as a fitness model, he was recently invited to Arnold Amateurs to compete. Although he acknowledges the prestigious invite, his personal training career and clients are first priority. By entering a competition such as the Arnold Amateurs, your focus needs to be on dieting and preparation. Luke however did not want to jeopardize his clients training and would consider entering the competition in the future.
A few questions we asked Luke about his personal training experience:
What is the most difficult challenge for a personal trainer?
“The most difficult challenge for a trainer is assessing how to train someone and what works for that individual. You simply can’t train any two people the same. There is also a certain psychological aspect, as a personal trainer you really need to be able to get along with anyone. As in life, there are a wide variety of people who you come across.”
What do you really find satisfying about training other people?
“I love the fitness industry because it benefits the person who converts to a healthy lifestyle. People’s self-esteem shoot through the roof, and they always leave happier and in a better mood as when they arrive. I have also became very good friends with majority of my clients. When they come for their session, it doesn’t feel like work at all.”
A last question to you Luke to leave our readers motivated; What do you think is key in successful results?
“Consistency and moderation are the key aspects to success. When a person is happy and enjoys something, they will always excel at it much faster and better than being forced to do so. The hardest of all things to do is to change your habit. People become accustomed to their habits, and in changing your habits to a healthy lifestyle, you already on your way to success.”
